Imaginative dialogue and fascinating characters help this somewhat satisfying adventure, laden with a few minor bearings. Its over-the-top embellished action screams complete lunacy, as a cartoon absolutely should. The fantasy style, sci-fi escapades of a younger Ben and his cousin Gwen, with Grandpa Max in tow deliver those old-school Cartoon Network vibes you may have once received as a pre-schooler that enjoyed the demographic. Shame they couldn’t get The Flintstones reboot to work albeit Ben 10: Power Trip, is not that bad of an Adventure title. Especially for those that seem to have everlasting praise from its younger fanbase. I seem to forget established properties within cartoons and entertainment see a recycle phase, and reboot every so often. I was surprised to see a Ben 10 title land on my desk, as I had believed the series had wrapped generations ago, but boy was I wrong. So just a fair warning, if you’re not here for some clarity behind purchasing this title for your kid, then this review is most certainly not for you. But in-depth would probably be a fair stretch here. It’s also fair to justify that I’m reviewing the title with a fairer outlook than I would a “Last of Us” per se. You’re looking for the right choice for your youngster to enjoy not that there’s anything wrong with a 32-year old grown-ass man playing Ben 10: Power Trip… but its niche is not necessarily aimed at the adult market. So it’s fair to say that you already know why you’re here. For me I believe ultimate alien is a great way of at least keeping the consistency of a great franchise.Alright, let me preface this by stating that this is not our average, run-of-the-mill extensive look into a gaming masterpiece. They also eradicated that silly timer because most of the plot arcs brought powerful and demanding villains such as Eon, Aggregor, Ultimate Kevin, and many others. Problem is that there are just few ultimate aliens. But now Ben fights and puts his all into it, causing destruction and shockwaves that his powerful aliens must deliver.įor the Ultimate Aliens, they were the superb factor of the show. Most of his fight scenes in the previous enabled villains victorious with plot armor since it was a show meant for the younger. Ultimate Alien improved the battle scenes to an overpowered level which for so long Ben deserved. This meant that even though we wanted AF to end the Ben 10 franchise, we were sucked into a great new arc that changed our minds in UA. Ultimate Alien begun with a bang! The first episode fed straight into one of the franchise's biggest and wildest arc Agreggor. Everything was perfect and it could have ended there but nope, another successor emerged. Ben's love interest was deeply invested in too. Unique villains were introduced into the system and a bigger cast emerged. But guess what it did and proved us all wrong.Īlien Force came with a new arc which saw our characters mature. We all believed that a kids show could not transition into a darker theme. The original was great and went well and could have ended there perfectly. The original Ben 10 won the heart of many kids because it introduced a new unique way of writing super hero stories just like how some Japanese mangas do not feel shounen at all, in the case of kimetsu no yaiba, attack on Titan etc.
